What you need
– crochethook 4 mm
– crochethook 1,5 mm
– Black and white yarn. Mine is Royal from a Dutch shop called Zeeman which is an aran weight acrylic yarn.
– Fingering weight black yarn
– darning needle
– black embroidery floss
– embroidery needle
– two black beads for the eyes or small safety eyes
Hat
Starting with white yarn
1. Make a ring, 6 sc in ring (6)
2. 2 sc in every sc around (12)
3. *1 sc in sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * (18)
4. 1 sc in every sc (18)
5. *1 sc in sc, 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * (24)
6. 1 sc in every sc (24)
Change to black yarn
7. 1 sc in every sc (24)
8. 1 sc in every sc (24)
9. 1 sc in every sc (24)
10. 1 sc in every sc (24)
11. 1 sc in every sc (24)
12. Slip stitch around in every front loop only (24)
Ears
Using the black worsted or aran yarn, make two as follows
1. Make a ring, 6 sc in ring (6)
2. *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * (9)
3. 1 sc in every sc (9)
Fold the ear and attach it to the hat
Eyes
Make two eye patches as follows. Use the 1,5 mm hook and the fingering weight yarn.
1. Make a ring, 6 sc in ring (6)
2. 2 sc in every sc (12)
Sew the eyepatches to the hat and put the black beads or safety eyes in place. Embroider a nose and mouth and your panda is finished!
